Who Are We?
Woodlands Baptist Church is a new church in Rockford. A small group of people, led by Pastor Phil Lien, began with a passion to share the life changing message of the Gospel in our city.
Woodlands Baptist Church is a culturally diverse, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, Bible-living, Missions focused, Baptist church where Jesus is first place and you can find a fresh start! If you feel like something is missing in your life, you are searching for hope, genuine, healthy community, or you simply want to grow in your faith. You’re going to love growing in grace with us!
What Can I Expect?
We’re honoured that you’re considering making this community your own. When you join us for an in-person service, we encourage you to introduce yourself to a hospitality team member, or the person sitting next to you; we would love to meet you.
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a nerve-racking experience, and so we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Woodlands Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. You can expect to be welcomed into a positive environment by people who are genuinely excited to get to know you.
Located at 5237 East Riverside Blvd. Rockford our Sunday service begin at 10:00am and will last about 70 minutes. At each gathering, you will experience uplifting music, and an inspiring message from the Bible by our Pastor.
What Else
Should I Know?
Once you arrive, feel free to grab a coffee in our foyer, enter the worship service, or to sign in your child for nursery or their class. When the service begins we invite you to join with us as we worship God through song. We work hard at making the emphasis of our worship service about our praise and thankfulness to God. After a time of Bible reading and prayer, we turn our focus to the preaching. Our preaching is expository in that our Pastor seeks to proclaim faithfully the intended meaning of the Scriptures, and we believe you will leave each service with practical Bible principles that will equip you to face life’s challenges.
Whether you’re brand-new to church or you’ve been around for a while, we believe you will be inspired, encouraged, and feel welcomed by our amazing community of people. We can’t wait to meet you and we are praying that you would join us for a service this weekend.
What About My Kids?
Starting with excellent nurseries for ages 0-3, there is something special for every child. At each service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. At Junior Church, your 4-12 year old child won’t have a chance to be bored and our goal is to make Sunday your child’s favorite day of the week! They will have a ton of fun as they learn about Jesus through age-specific, Bible centered lessons, and a variety of exciting activities. As well, throughout the year, we invite the kids to join with the adults in the main worship service. This gives families the opportunity to worship God together.
For teenagers in high school, we have regular events and activities for them to grow in their faith, and face the challenges of living for Jesus in our city. Feel free to reach out to us for more information about our youth group.
Finally, all of our classes are staffed with trained, friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who have undergone a comprehensive background check.
